Which orientation should I attend?

UConn international students with F-1 or J-1 visas are required to attend an orientation session provided by the ISSS to learn important information about your visa type and life at UConn as an international student.  Additionally, your academic program may be providing a separate orientation that you must also plan to attend – your program will notify you of this separately.  To see which ISSS orientation program you are required to attend, please select your campus below:

Exchange Students: Education Abroad will organize and provide your orientation.  No ISSS Sign up or payment is required.  For more information please visit Education Abroad’s website or contact Sara Bradshaw (incoming_exchange@uconn.edu).
Graduate Students (including 3+2,  Pharm.D. and MOU students): All Storrs campus F-1 and J-1 graduate and non-degree international students must register in advance and attend the ISSS Sessions of the Graduate Student Orientation. Sign up for ISSS orientation here.  Be sure to check out the Graduate School’s website for more information about the Graduate School Orientation for all new graduate students.
Undergraduate Students (Freshman and Transfer students): Orientation Services at the Storrs campus will organize and provide your orientation.  No ISSS sign up or payment is required.  Please visit the Undergraduate Orientation website or contact orientation@uconn.edu for more information.
MS Financial Risk Management: The MS FRM program will provide orientation at your campus, which will include the mandatory ISSS orientation and international student check-in.  For more information contact Laurissa Berk (laurissa.berk@business.uconn.edu). No ISSS sign up or payment is required.
Stamford Undergraduate Students: please visit the International Orientation website or contact Terry Reilly (terry.reilly@uconn.edu) or Gayle Riquier (gayle.riquier@uconn.edu) for more information about orientation.
Bachelor of General Studies (BGS): students should contact bgsstam@uconn.edu for more information about BGS orientation.
All Other Stamford Students: ISSS will come to your campus to provide the required ISSS orientation session and international student check-in.

Fall/Spring Admits: MS BAPM, MS FRM and full-time MBA programs will provide orientation at your campus, which will include the mandatory ISSS orientation.  No ISSS Orientation sign up or payment is required.  Please follow online check-in procedures.
MBA Students: will have mandatory orientation activities in August 2017.  Students are required to attend all orientation activities.  Please contact Ryan Baldassario (ryan.baldassario@business.uconn.edu) for additional information about MBA orientation.
MS BAPM Students: will have mandatory orientation activities during the week of January 9-13, 2017.  International MS BAPM students should plan to arrive in the U.S. by Friday, January 6, 2017. Please visit the MS BAPM Orientation website http://msbapm.business.uconn.edu/welcome/ or contact our program at bapmhelp@business.uconn.ed for more information.
MS FRM Students: The MS FRM program will provide orientation at your campus, which will include the mandatory ISSS orientation and international student check-in.  For more information contact msfrm.program@business.uconn.edu. No ISSS sign up or payment is required.
LLM/SJD/Exchange: The School of Law will provide your orientation, which will include the mandatory ISSS orientation session and international student check-in. ISSS orientation and student check-in will take place Friday, August 19, 2016.  Please contact Carrianna Field (carrianna.field@uconn.edu) with an additional questions or concerns you may have.
JD: The School of Law will provide your orientation program, but you will be required to attend the ISSS session offered as part of the LLM/SJD/Exchange Orientation to meet orientation and international student check in requirements. ISSS will contact you with details.
Avery Point Students:  Avery Point graduate students are welcome to sign up for and attend the Storrs Campus orientation. Sign up for Storrs Campus ISSS orientation here.  If you cannot attend the Storrs Campus orientation, ISSS staff will reach out to you individually to arrange a time that can accommodate your schedule.  For more information contact international@uconn.edu.
Greater Hartford Students: ISSS will come to your campus to provide the required ISSS orientation session and international student check-in.  ISSS staff will reach out to you individually to arrange a time that can accommodate your schedule.  For more information contact international@uconn.edu.
Waterbury Students: ISSS will contact you with further information on how to meet the international student orientation and check-in requirement.  ISSS staff will reach out to you individually to arrange a time that can accommodate your schedule.  For more information contact international@uconn.edu.
